WEEK 17: Achievement Unlocked: La Navidad

Image
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!  There are 2 festive videos we made in my google photos that I know yall don't wanna miss that are down below. (They are worth watching)  I hope everyone is having a great day with family, next to the fireplace drinking hot chocolate and being able to listen to Christmas music other than the tabernacle choir. (Im not trunky I swear)  All jokes aside, I am super grateful for christmas this year! I will be celebrating Christmas this year in my trio of companions but we have transfers this week so we will see if I stay or if I go.  This week my district and I got to sing some christmas hymns outside our house. We thought we were singing at the park across from our house but we showed up and it was in this room loaded with people. An hermana played violin and it was super cool. We also got free food afterwards so big W.  Another cool thing that happened this week was we passed a group of kids playing basketball and my companion had...

WEEK 16: Achievement Unlocked: 2 Sectors

Image
This week was tought.  First off, my trainer left for home on Monday and I was put into another trio and we have to cover 2 sectors in our mission now. My area, Esperanza, and Libertad. It's super stressful because we only have 3 days in my area each week and we can't teach as much as we used too.  There were a couple days this week where I just thought, "what am I doing here bruh" it was hard to adjust. But eventually I persevered and I'm feeling a lot better now! There were some good and bad times with my companions but we were able to talk about it and get over it.  I can't believe it's only 1 week until Christmas! If your wondering what Ecuador is like at Christmas time, it's nothing like back home. The weather is still hot and it still feels like August to me. Everyone has a Christmas tree in their house though which is pretty cool.  This week I read the scripture, Alma 36:27  27 And I have been supported under trials and troubles of every kind,...

This week was soo good  First off, this week was so crazy. My companion Elder Anderson goes home tomorrow so he was in guayaquil a lot with another missionary for meetings.  We had a christmas conference this week and it was so fun! First we listened to some talks by the mission president, his wife, and the APs. After wards we had a white elephant gift exchange and I'm not gonna lie, my present was kinda lame, and I know it was from a sister because I got fuzzy socks and a little snowman. After, we had lunch and the lunch was soooo good. It was chicken, non white rice and broccoli. After we made Christmas cookies at presidents house and then went home.  We also had 3 more baptisms this weekend! The work out here in the peninsula is super super good. I love baptisms because it shows the person's commitment to drop everything and follow christ even when it's hard.  This week I had a couple rough days with some things that came up and for all the missionaries str...

Whats up everyone!  I hope you all are having a good week especially because its finally December! I got my christmas package on friday and it had some christmas decorations in it so our house is starting to look a lot more festive lol.  This week we had 2 baptisms! I had the opportunity to baptize one of the people and I cannot describe the absolute joy and peace I could feel afterwards. It is super awesome to see people that you have been teaching accept the invitation to be baptized. We should have another 3 baptisms this saturday as well! This week has been the start of all of us decorating for christmas. We bought a christmas tree and I got a package from my family with some decorations in it too which is awesome.  This week I also hit 100 days in the mission! its so crazy how fast the time has gone by. I also have like 600 more days left in the mission lol. BUT I know it will go by fast as well, and im trying to live in the moment every day.  When my tim...

Cache hasn't had time to write emails the past two weeks.  I hope this doesn't become a trend for him. Getting emails is the best!  So, here are pictures from the past two weeks that he has added to his google album. Each week we have spoken with him and he is doing fantastic!  He is learning the language, staying positive and loving his time with his trainer.  Jen
