Image
What's up y'all! anotha week anotha dolla  To start off this week we found and put another person on date for baptism! He has come to church for the past 2 weeks and will be baptised on september 14th!  This last friday Elder Bednar from the quorum of the 12 apostles came and talked with ALL 4 missions here in Guayaquil! It was super fun to see some people I know from the other missions. I also got to see my boy Elder Wills, (Go check out his emails they're fire) The biggest take away I got from the conference is that we need to have faith in the plan that God has for us and to ALWAYS follow spiritual impressions.  This week flew by super fast and we were able to get a lot of work done in our sector. Transfers are coming up this week and I have no Idea if i will stay or if I will go (Im hoping I stay) but I also have been feeling like my work here in this sector has been done and that there are people that need me in another sector.  Alma 26:27  27  ...

WEEK 52: Achievement Unlocked: 1 Year

Yep, you read that correctly. The 21st of August I hit a full year on the mission. It's so crazy how fast time has gone by so let's talk about it.  Mission stats:  Companions-7 Areas-4 People helped with baptism-7  all nighters- 8, nah just kidding 0... This week we had a zone conference and it was pretty fun. We talked about the importance of helping people come to church and the importance of going to church. So, this week we invited a ton of people to church and we had 5 people show up! One of them is a beast.  We found this one guy contacting in the streets and he has potential. He's 79 years old and hasn't come to church in a LONG time. He pulled up to church and afterwards he told us that he is going to keep coming to church and share the whole thing with his family so hopefully they are all going to come to church this next week!  Alright all right, I know a lot of you are wondering how I am with my health. I got some tests done and they all c...

ONE YEAR!!! August 21, 2024

Elder Johnson hit his year mark! Here is the Facebook post I wrote: Elder Johnson hit his year mark today! So many emotions have been running through my heart as we approached this day. The strongest emotions are joy and gratitude that he’s been kept safe and healthy. I’m also immensely proud of him and all that he has done. He is now fluent in Spanish and loves serving the people of Ecuador. He’s grown so much physically AND spiritually. He has definitely lost himself in the work as he serves and loves the people of Ecuador. It is so nice to get to talk to him every week. I took a screenshot every time we talked to him and tried to fit it all into one post! Cache is such an amazing example to me of someone who has sacrificed so much for something he loves more. I have seen blessings and miracles for him and us this past year. I am so excited to be on the countdown now. Love, MOM

WEEK 47-49: Achievement Unlocked" The Hospital

Image
Ayo wsg yall, I haven't written in a little while but let's get right into it. So for the past 3 weeks I have had pretty bad stomach problems. I ate something I wasn't supposed to and have been throwing up randomly for the past 3 weeks. We went to the hospital to do some tests AND... We still haven't received any answers 🤗. That's the beauty of being in a 3rd world country. I think I have a parasite though.  They did some tests on me by taking my blood and another interesting test. (If you want to know the other test message me privately cuz I aint writing it down here lol) So yeah, I wasn't able to leave the house for the past 2 days so that I could rest. I haven't been feeling good at random times during the day which has affected the work. (Please pray for me) 2 of our baptismal dates didn't pass their interview so we had to push the date back a little. Please pray for them as well so that they can receive answers to the questions that they have so...

WEEK 46: Achievement Unlocked: Bashing with Catholic Moms

wsg yall  this week was a pretty slow week and we werent able to get much missionary work done because i also was sick at the start of this week. We were able to help our progressing people and they are doing well progressing towards baptism.  This week we got an online reference and visited a 19 year old muchacho. We gave him a book of mormon and invited him to church and he came!! We then visited his family that night and his mom asked us, "ok, why are you here? whats your message?" the mom wasnt willing to listen at first. Eventually we started with a prayer and we started teaching them about the book of mormon and Joseph Smith. When we were explaining our message I was filled with the spirit and felt like abinadi talked to king noah and the wicked priests (from the book of mormon) Every question she asked me I was able to answer with confidence and I knew that they felt the spirit and that our message helped them. We ended and they said we could come back ...

WEEK 45: Achievement Unlocked: Baptism Dates

Image
This past week was awesome! We were able to put a family of 3 on date for baptism and they all agreed! We invited them to church and the mom told us she had to buy things and that she wouldn't have time. We then explained that you have to go to church 3 times in order to get baptized . She thought a little bit and then said, "ok, i'll go" I was filled with the spirit and it was really cool to see how much the moms testimony has grown and her commitment to go to church and put other things behind.  I hit 11 months on the mission which is pretty crazy. The year mark is super close and I feel like time has been going super slow when I think about hitting the year mark lol. This transfer has also flown by and we have transfers this week. My companion and I think we are going to stay another transfer together.  This email is gonna be a little short this week because I don't have too much time but I love you all so much! Feel free to reach out to me at any time. (I l...
