WEEK 101: Achievement Unlocked: 🌊Tsunami evacuación 🌊

Image
To start off, we had a good hard working day Tuesday. We got home and as we were about to go to bed we saw an announcement from a member on their WhatsApp story about a tsunami. We sent it to the APs and they confirmed it. The APs told us that our whole zone had to go to the stake center so that we could evacuate to Guayaquil on a bus (we are the zone on the beach)  We got that call at 11 a clock at night and there were some missionaries that wouldn't answer our calls so we had to wake the bishop up (we live above him) and drive 15 minutes to Salinas to wake up the elders and evacuate them. We also had to go a sister's house and wake them up.  We all got to the stake center at 12 aclock at night and we left in the bus and got to Guayaquil at 2:30 in the morning. President let us sleep in until 9:30 that morning 😁 Good news is, that the tsunami didn't hurt anybody because the waves were only a meter high. President told us that he would rather laugh about this experienc...

WEEK 100: Achievement Unlocked: Last week on the Mish

Gooood morning a todos  First off, our ward had another white night where 4 people got baptized and 1 of them was our friend Antonio!!  🥳 It was a super special day. It was probably the last baptism of my mission too. This past week was my last week of straight work without any conferences, interviews, travels, nothing. That being said, my comp and I wanted to achieve all of our goals this week but focused a lot on getting 40 visits with members. I can happily say, that with God's help and our work efforts we accomplished that Goal.  This week I did get a little discouraged at times, and I was a little down when we couldn't complete the goal we put for new people at church.  This thought reminded me of a call we had this past week with the mission leaders and President Taylor. In this reunion our mission president asked us if we were bad missionaries if we didn't bring people to church. He asked us if we were not fulfilling our missionary purpose if the peopl...

Week 99: ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: BOM Miracle

Image
Wsg yall  First off I just wanna say that the Book of Mormon is TRUE. Like holy cow every single time I read it there is no doubt in my mind that God truly called prophets to the Americas and he called them to write their history and dealings with God  Increíble  This week we contacted a evangelist-Christian with the BOM. We asked her if her kids wanted to accompany us in the lesson but she said no because they follow her and her religion. She explained to us that she already knew Christ and that she didn't need to know more about him. We offered to give her the BOM and she said, "No but please give it to someone who has an open heart and is willing to listen to your message" So we left.  A couple minutes later a truck pulled up next to us and called us over. He explained to us that he was the son of the lady we contacted and he said, "Give me the Book, I want to read it" WHATTT milagraso.  1 Nephi 14:1-2 1 And it shall come to pass, that if the Gentiles ...

WEEK 97: Acheivement Unlocked: 🇺🇲🦅💥

This past Tuesday we had a leadership counsel with our new mission president and he is super chill.  On Thursday we had zone conference with half of the mission and it was filled with the spirit. My companion and I gave a presentation and it was fun to get to know president and sister Taylor a little more.  Happy 4th of July! I hope you all enjoyed celebrating the birthday of the land of the free 🇺🇲🦅💥 This week was more on the tough side. I genuinely got homesick for the first time in my whole mission. We had a family home evening with some members last night and we read this scripture.  1 Nephi 3:7  7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them. I love this scripture because it shows the power of Faith. I didn't come ...
