WEEK 100: Achievement Unlocked: Last week on the Mish

 Gooood morning a todos

First off, our ward had another white night where 4 people got baptized and 1 of them was our friend Antonio!!  🥳
It was a super special day. It was probably the last baptism of my mission too.

This past week was my last week of straight work without any conferences, interviews, travels, nothing. That being said, my comp and I wanted to achieve all of our goals this week but focused a lot on getting 40 visits with members. I can happily say, that with God's help and our work efforts we accomplished that Goal.

This week I did get a little discouraged at times, and I was a little down when we couldn't complete the goal we put for new people at church.

This thought reminded me of a call we had this past week with the mission leaders and President Taylor. In this reunion our mission president asked us if we were bad missionaries if we didn't bring people to church. He asked us if we were not fulfilling our missionary purpose if the people we teach don't get baptized.

He then shared these scriptures.

Helaman 10:3-5
3 And it came to pass as he was thus pondering—being much cast down because of the wickedness of the people of the Nephites, their secret works of darkness, and their murderings, and their plunderings, and all manner of iniquities—and it came to pass as he was thus pondering in his heart, behold, a voice came unto him saying:
4 Blessed art thou, Nephi, for those things which thou hast done; for I have beheld how thou hast with unwearyingness declared the word, which I have given unto thee, unto this people. And thou hast not feared them, and hast not sought thine own life, but hast sought my will, and to keep my commandments.
5 And now, because thou hast done this with such unwearyingness, behold, I will bless thee forever; and I will make thee mighty in word and in deed, in faith and in works; yea, even that all things shall be done unto thee according to thy word, for thou shalt not ask that which is contrary to my will.

I love this part in the Book of Mormon because we can see that the prophet Nephi was also VERY discouraged for the wickedness of the people. The Lord helped remind him of all the good that he had done. In verse 4 we learn of 4 key attributes that Nephi had.

1. He was a hard worker
2. He did not fear
3. He was humble
4. He was obedient

If we work hard, fear not, humble ourselves before the Lord, and are obedient, we shall be blessed forever.

The work is true. The gospel is true. The church was restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith. The BoM is true. Jesus Lives, and He is the savior of the world.

En el sagrado nombre de nuestro señor Jesucristo, Amen
