WEEK 101: Achievement Unlocked: 馃寠Tsunami evacuaci贸n 馃寠

 To start off, we had a good hard working day Tuesday. We got home and as we were about to go to bed we saw an announcement from a member on their WhatsApp story about a tsunami. We sent it to the APs and they confirmed it. The APs told us that our whole zone had to go to the stake center so that we could evacuate to Guayaquil on a bus (we are the zone on the beach) 


We got that call at 11 a clock at night and there were some missionaries that wouldn't answer our calls so we had to wake the bishop up (we live above him) and drive 15 minutes to Salinas to wake up the elders and evacuate them. We also had to go a sister's house and wake them up. 

We all got to the stake center at 12 aclock at night and we left in the bus and got to Guayaquil at 2:30 in the morning. President let us sleep in until 9:30 that morning 馃榿

Good news is, that the tsunami didn't hurt anybody because the waves were only a meter high. President told us that he would rather laugh about this experience later than actually be in danger. We are all chillin 馃槫

I ended up staying in Guayaquil for 3 days because I had my last interview with prezzy on tuesday, consejo de lideres (leadership counsel) on thursday, and then I had my final dinner with President on Friday. 

We got home Saturday and worked for my last work day in the mission. 

On sunday it was pretty sad saying bye to the members. It was more sad saying bye to my converts because 2 of them started crying. Sunday Night we went to a members house and grilled steak, and chicken, and sausage and it was super good. 

I also got another parasite 馃槕

And just like that my mission is over. I will be getting home Wednesday around noon and my Homecoming talk will be this sunday at 12pm. Email me for the address 馃榿

I want to leave my mission testifying to you all that everything is true. The church, the BOM, it's true. If you want to recieve an answer you need to be willing to follow the prompting that you recieve. God gives us trials of faith to see if we will follow him. I testify that the miracle doesn't come until after the trial of faith. I testify that the iron rod is the word of God and that to stay on the path we need to keep doing the small things. Pray. Read your scriptures. And go to church.

 Feliz A帽o!!  I'm not gonna lie the New Year was CRAZY here. There were fireworks going off literally everywhere. All along the horizon and people were lighting fireworks off in front of our house so they were above us too. It was awesome.  There are these things here called munigotes and they are paper machete statues of every USA thing you could think of and at the end of the year they fill them up with dynamite and just light them off in the streets. We weren't able to watch any unfortunately because we had to be in our house at 6pm yesterday.  Last night we played 5 crowns because one of the elders in my house brought it from home and we had sparkling cider as well. It was super cool because that's what my family at home ended up doing for new years as well. It was cool to live that tradition 4000 miles away lol. We had transfers this past week and I am still in my same area in the peninsula with my Guatemalan companion AND we're finally not in a trio anymore....

Week 99: ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: BOM Miracle

  Wsg yall  First off I just wanna say that the Book of Mormon is TRUE. Like holy cow every single time I read it there is no doubt in my mind that God truly called prophets to the Americas and he called them to write their history and dealings with God  Incre铆ble  This week we contacted a evangelist-Christian with the BOM. We asked her if her kids wanted to accompany us in the lesson but she said no because they follow her and her religion. She explained to us that she already knew Christ and that she didn't need to know more about him. We offered to give her the BOM and she said, "No but please give it to someone who has an open heart and is willing to listen to your message" So we left.  A couple minutes later a truck pulled up next to us and called us over. WEEK 29: Achievement Unlocked: The Office

  This week started off like normal. A little slow, not really teaching anybody, the usual. My comp and I started making plans on how to improve the sector and we were talking about writing a song because we got permission to play guitar throughout the week.  This week was also transfer week. My comp and I didn't think much of it because we white washed the sector, which means we both started at the same time. We hopped on a call and I heard, "Elder Johnson has transfers". WHAT. How the heck do I have transfers? I was distraught, sad, angry. I didn't want to leave the sector or live with new elders and a new companion. I also had only been in my sector for 1 transfer. I eventually said bye to all the members, and packed my bags.  Transfer day. We drove to the office and I was nervous. I didn't know where I was going or who I would be put with.
