WEEK 10: Achievement Unlocked: Johnson Y Johnson

Image
Buenas tardes everyone!!  I hope everyone had a good week this past week! This week flew by for me. This was the fasted week of my mission so far but im not complaining because I love P-day lol.  This week I had an exchange with the other elder Johnson in our district. It was super funny to tell people we had the same name. They all thought we were brothers and kept asking if it was johnson like the shampoo company. It is indeed Johnson like the shampoo company.  The gift of tounges is real. While on my exchange with elder Johnson, we were talking with this lady and I just started speaking spanish. I felt the spirit super strongly as I was talking and when I finished my message I couldnt even remember what I said but I know its what they needed to hear.  I have started to play a lot of guitar and ukelele lately. The other 2 Elders in our house have some so I have been playing a lot. I have plans to drop an album on the mission so stay tuned for that lol. ...

Whats up everyone!  This email might be a little long so I'll break them up into paragraphs and you can skip to stories that sound more interesting.  Tuesday: Travis Scott and Drake  On Tuesday we took a bus ride to another sector called Ancon, in the mission for district counsel. On the way back there were some kids on the bus listening to Goosebumps by Travis Scott and Kiki by drake. They were super bad remixes with the singing in spanish but it was funny to listen too.  Wednesday: Gratitude  On Wednesday I didn't have the best attitude. I was tired, didn't want to work and just wanted to stay home. I also still don't know the language and people here will tell you if you are bad at Spanish or not.  We eventually got through the day and I started thinking of all the things I am grateful for and why I'm on the mission. I then thought of my favorite movie quote from Meet The Robinsons, "keep moving forward" everything is okay now lol.  Thursday: ...

WEEK 8: Achievement Unlocked: The Ocean

¡Buenas todos!  This week has been more on the rough side, I'm going to be honest. Spanish is so tough. I am doing a good job learning words and sharing scriptures in my testimony. The Ecuadorians speak sooooo fast so it's hard to hear what they're saying but, with more practice and listening I hope I can learn fast.  We have also been teaching a lot of lessons and they are going good so far! We invited a couple people to church and most of them showed up, which was awesome. We also have been doing a lot of lessons with 2 members in our ward. They are both super awesome to teach with and they have been showing us where all the members in our ward live which helps out a ton. I don't know what they say half the time so I just smile and nod my head lol.  Today for P-day we went to a place called La Chocolatera which is on the very tip of the peninsula of Ecuador. It was so sick to see the ocean and we even saw some whales too. It was also cool to be able to hango...

WEEK 7: Achievement Unlocked- Ecuador!

Buenos Dias!  A lot happened this week so this might turn out to be a long email lol.  Conference! conference was super good last week and if any of you haven't I would highly recommend going back and listening to some of the talks. They're all super good! October 5th I finally left for Ecuador. This was a super sad day because I left almost all of my friends from the MTC. If any of you elders are reading this, I love y'all and I wish you the best of luck in your missions 🫡.  Me, Elder Bullock, and Elder Hall left the MTC at 2:30 in the morning with 12 other elders. We flew from Utah to Texas, to Miami, and then finally Ecuador.  We showed up to the airport and waiting for us was the Mission President and his wife along with the APs. As soon as we left the plane and saw Ecuador for the first time, I fell in love with this place. I know this is where I am supposed to be. We got to the mission home around 11:30 and they brought us burgers and then we went to be...
