WEEK 9: Achievement Unlocked: Cumplemes

 Whats up everyone! 

This email might be a little long so I'll break them up into paragraphs and you can skip to stories that sound more interesting. 
Tuesday: Travis Scott and Drake 
On Tuesday we took a bus ride to another sector called Ancon, in the mission for district counsel. On the way back there were some kids on the bus listening to Goosebumps by Travis Scott and Kiki by drake. They were super bad remixes with the singing in spanish but it was funny to listen too. 
Wednesday: Gratitude 
On Wednesday I didn't have the best attitude. I was tired, didn't want to work and just wanted to stay home. I also still don't know the language and people here will tell you if you are bad at Spanish or not.  We eventually got through the day and I started thinking of all the things I am grateful for and why I'm on the mission. I then thought of my favorite movie quote from Meet The Robinsons, "keep moving forward" everything is okay now lol. 
Thursday: Exchange 
On Thursday I did an exchange with Elder Pierce and he is a super cool Elder. We did some studies in the morning and then ate lunch. After that we started teaching and today was LONG. We taught from 2:30-9:30 and fasted the whole time. I also met someone who kept trying to take my tie clip and said that when we are together we are an oreo. Big W. 
Friday: 
Today we had service cutting grass. You may be thinking, oh mowing lawns isnt too bad. You would be wrong. we had to cut weeds and grass with machetes and it is the most unefficient way to cut grass when you have 4 gringos doing it. I also ended up being sick the rest of the day with a fever. 
Saturday:
Today we ate lunch outside of a members house because there was no man over the age of 18. we also did service shoveling gravel. We went and visited a members house today and they had a birthday so we got to eat this rice and chicken plate, jello, cake, and they gave us a bag of candy. 
That night we were teaching a lesson and as we finished the power went out everywhere. We also had to get home super fast or else we would be past curfew. We ran along the dirt road in the dark and had dogs chasing us left and right. Eventually we found a random taxi who said he could take us home. Small Miracle. 
Spiritual thought: 
Look for the joy in everything. The good, the bad, and the ugly. (My sunday school class will get the inside joke) 
When you are having a bad day, find joy to make it a better one. 
When you are having a good day, find joy to remember the good times youre having.

  Yo wsg. This past week absolutely FLEW by. I literally have no idea how it's pday already.  My comp has been teaching me how to cook so this past week I bought some chicken and made my first healthy meal in the mission 💪 We found a new familiy this week and they all showed up to church after 4 days of teaching them! The mom is super awesome and already believes in the gospel and is telling her kids and husband that its true.  This past week I have developed a huge love for the Book Of Mormón. I'm not gonna lie, my whole mission I've kinda slacked on my study of the scriptures. I have watched conferences talks, book of mormon videos, read PMG, but none of them are good substitutes for ACTUALLY reading the scriptures.  This past week I prayed so that I could have the desire to read the scriptures and now, it's one of the only things I look forward to in my day.  I have been reading in Alma in the story of captain Moroni and wanted to share with you all this scr...

WEEK 82: Achievement Unlocked: I Lost My Suitcase on a Bus

  Good morning, good afternoon, ans good evening ☀️ This past wednesday I ended Intercambios with some elders that live 1 hour away from us in bus. I put my suitcase on the bottom part of the bus because it was too big to take with me up top. We get off the bus with like 20 other people and before I know it, the bus is gone with all of my stuff.  I had my personal scriptures in english, my clothes, my study materials, chargers, etc. Luckily, before I left the house I felt the impression to take out my wallet which had 80 dollars in it.  We went to the bus terminal and found out that there are over 50 buses that come and go every 15 minutes to the terminal here in Posorja and Guayaquil (Guayaquil is 2 hours away from us in bus) and if I didn't know the bus number it would be hard to find... WEEK 8: Achievement Unlocked: The Ocean

  ¡Buenas todos!  This week has been more on the rough side, I'm going to be honest. Spanish is so tough. I am doing a good job learning words and sharing scriptures in my testimony. The Ecuadorians speak sooooo fast so it's hard to hear what they're saying but, with more practice and listening I hope I can learn fast.  We have also been teaching a lot of lessons and they are going good so far! We invited a couple people to church and most of them showed up, which was awesome. We also have been doing a lot of lessons with 2 members in our ward. They are both super awesome to teach with and they have been showing us where all the members in our ward live which helps out a ton. I don't know what they say half the time so I just smile and nod my head lol.  Today for P-day we went to a place called La Chocolatera which is on the very tip of the peninsula of Ecuador.
