WEEK 64: Achievement Unlocked: Gunshots en el Guasmo
Buenaaas tardes yall
This week FLEW by. I cant even believes that its Monday again but let's get into it.
This past Wednesday (I think) my companion and I were turning left on a corner when we heard 4 gunshots a block away from us to our right so we started running. Don't worry mom, we are safe 😁
The coolest part about that experience for me was that I didn't feel scared at all. I heard the gunshots and knew what they were but I felt normal, and I felt a peace. It reminded me a lot of president Russell M. Nelson's talk this past conference when he was in times of danger but felt an unmistakable peace.
We also had a baptism yesterday! We baptized a girl named Ashley and we started teaching her 3 weeks ago! It was so cool to see how her faith has grown and to see her decision to follow Christ and receive the blessings of baptism.
Alma 57:21 and 27
21 Yea, and they did obey and observe to perform every word of command with exactness; yea, and even according to their faith it was done unto them; and I did remember the words which they said unto me that their mothers had taught them.
27 Now this was the faith of these of whom I have spoken; they are young, and their minds are firm, and they do put their trust in God continually.
I was reading In Alma about the army of Helaman. How there were 2000 youth who went out to fight war for their families and I always relate this to missionary work.
We leave our families for a space of 2 years to serve the lord. And we share the things our mothers have taught us. And when we follow and obey the rules with exactness and trust in god, like the Nephites of old, we WILL see miracles and blessings in our lives.
En el nombre de Jesucristo, Amen.
I love you all so much! Don't be afraid to reach out 💪
(I also am going to hit 15 months on the mission this week, whaaaat)
