WEEK 76 : Achievement Unlocked: Repentence

One thing I have learned on my mission is the importance of repentance. One thing that I really liked was a quote that I read in Elder Lucass email yesterday and I want to share it with you as well.

"Sister Kristin Yee gave an incredible talk last conference, and she talks about this- "If you are struggling with a situation you think you should have overcome by now, don’t give up. Be patient with yourself, keep your covenants, repent often, seek the help of your leaders if needed, and go to the house of the Lord as regularly as you can. Listen for and heed the promptings He sends you. He will not abandon His covenant relationship with you."

We all mess up, it doesn't matter if you are serving a mission, are the prophet or the class president of your seminary class. The most important thing to remember is to NEVER GIVE UP. Keep fighting. Christ didn't die for you so that you can live a miserable life in sin. He died so that we can OVERCOME sin! This to me is the biggest blessing we can all receive from our loving older brother, Jesus Christ.

This past week I was reading the Book of Mormon and I love finding references about the atonement of Jesus Christ. This week I found Alma 7:10-12

10 And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.

11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.

12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.

I have messed up a lot in my mission. When I say a lot I mean A LOT. Whether it be with my spanish, scripture knowledge, or fiery darts that the adversary has thrown my way. I'm not perfect, you are not perfect, but in Christ we can ALL be perfected.

Moroni 10:32-33

32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.

33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.

If you have anything in this moment that you have done wrong and you don't want to worry about that bad feeling inside of you. Kneel down right now and pray. Pour your whole heart unto Heavenly Father. Talk with a trusted leader and they can help you to get rid of that bad feeling inside that scares you of things to come in the future.

36 Look unto me in every thoughtdoubt not, fear not.

Testifico estas cosas en el sagrado nombre de Jesucristo, Amen
