WEEK 78: 3/4
Good morning, good evening, and good afternoon.
This past week we had transfers. I stayed in my sector and got Elder Simons and my new companion! He is from Bolivia and he has 10 months on the mission.
This past week has been pretty rough for me trying to get motivated to get out and work. One thing that has always helped me is a plack that my trainer gave me by Gordan B. Hinkley that says, "Forget yourself and go to work"
I have thought a lot about what it truly means to "Forget yourself" One thing I have heard my whole life is to be me and not change who I am for others. I think a lot of people think the same when they hear this phrase.
But this phrase, "Forget yourself" doesnt mean get rid of your emotions and personality. We can see the difference when we get out and serve others.
Have you ever done a service and afterwards you feel really good inside and you want to keep helping others? Thats what this phrase means when it says forget yourself! When we help others we lose ourselves in the service and feel good inside.
Mosíah 2:17
17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that
when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.
I testify that when we put others first we can feel the true love of Jesus Christ in our lives.
Lo testifico en el nombre de Jesucristo, Amen
